HOW DRONE TECHNOLOGY IS MAKING IMPACT ON THE WORLD IN 2022?

Posted by

The impacts Of Drone Technology or the Evolving of Drone Technology can be considered one of the blessings of science. With the advancement of science, many new inventions and discoveries have become beneficial for human beings. And such one great invention is Drone or UAV.

In this article, we will discuss drones, their working mechanism, and how they significantly impact this world.

WHAT IS A DRONE TECHNOLOGY?

A drone is a flying vehicle controlled through remote or radar. It can also be driven through software designed for flight route plans and sensors present on its body using GPS. Both military and civilians now use drones.

Nowadays, people shoot aerial videos and post them on social media apps like TikTok and Instagram with the help of drones. Military use drones for anti-target practices, supplying medical supplies to remote places, and so on.

COMPONENTS OF A DRONE:

Drones are built-in quadcopter frame bodies consisting of four propellers on the top. They have in-built electronic speed controllers which control the motor speed during flight. A transmitter is attached with four different channels of different frequencies to communicate with the drone.

Some drones also come with a global positioning system that allows the user to fly a more considerable distance without getting lost. Other features like a camera, flight control board, and landing gears are also present.

Most drones are battery operated, but the capacity depends on work mode and price. Even the camera quality of a drone depends on the price tag. The more costly the drone higher the resolution it provides.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Drone frames are built with light materials that help them fly at high altitudes. Many drones also have single rotatory or multi rotatory motors, which allow them to maintain a significant height for the flight. At the drone’s tip, several sensors and navigation devices provide the details of the drone’s location.

Cameras in a drone are either used to track enemy positions by the military or to shoot videos by civilians. Most drones have an installed ground controlling system that enables them to control a drone at high altitudes without losing contact. For this reason, it is also known as an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).

IMPACTS OF DRONE TECHNOLOGY ON OUR WORLD:

Be in the military or in everyday use, the drone has had a significant impact on both. But as we all know, everything has its good and bad sides, and drones are no different. So, now let’s talk about the various positive and negative impacts of drone technology.

Positive Impacts Of Drone Technology:

(a) Rescue Operation

Drones play major life-saving roles that human forces fail to reach. At high altitudes, drones are used to track lost trekkers and mountain climbers. It even helps to track people after disasters like earthquakes, tsunamis, or landslides. It also helps to supply food and emergency requirements in flood-affected areas.

(b) Military use

Drones are used by military personnel to track different activities across the border. It even helps to trace out enemies residing near border areas. Militants also use the drone as a defense against attacks in the form of a predator drone.

All these drones are made separately for surveillance and defense purpose. At first, drones were only used by military people.

(c) Disaster Management

Drones are also used for controlling disasters like forest fires. Recently we witnessed a major forest fire in the Amazon rainforest, which caused considerable destruction to some hectares of land. In such places, people can’t go and stop the fire.

In such situations, only drones can be a hope of rescue. The in-built water sprinklers in drones spray from above the forest and help to arrest the fire. This technology is used to seize fire in large buildings and high-altitude areas to prevent mass destruction.

(d) Wildlife Conservation

To protect endangered species and study their life cycle, drones are used by forest officials and botany students. The surveillance feature of drones helps track all the animals’ positions 24 *7. Students study the lifestyle and different adaptive parts of such animals with the help of drone technology.

(e) Health

Drones are used to transfer blood and organs to hospitals in emergencies. We often hear that drones supply blood to patients on heavy traffic roads. Not only that, drones provide fast delivery helping doctors to save many lives.

Even government bodies use drones for disease management and cure. During the world pandemic, drones have been used to study the coronavirus in different countries. This helped to take necessary precautions before mass spreading and helped to save many lives.

(f) Agriculture

Drones are used to spray different fertilizers and insecticides in agricultural fields. Vast fields require considerable time to spray fertilizers by human force. So drones spray the chemicals from above the area and prepare insects from destroying it.

(g) Weather forecast

Drones are used to forecast weather and climate changes. They provide precise and accurate data within a short period. Satellites around the earth have old-designed sensors that take time to collect data and send it to the weather forecast department.

Drones are advanced sensors that can record even a slight disturbance in nature. Not only that, they can even fly at any altitude and help us study the changes.

Drones also help to determine navigation routes for high-loaded ships and aircraft. In the air, many times, storms occur without any precursor. So to prevent such circumstances, drones create an alternative route plan for airplanes to land the passengers safely.

It even helps ships to overcome and avoid heavy storms and cyclones in their sea route.

(h) Mining

Drones are used to trace minerals and elements present inside the earth. The advanced sensors and geo positioning system provide the exact location of minerals. This helps people to build mines in proper places. Drones also offer the depth and availability of minerals, so people don’t mind beyond that.

(I) Urban planning

Government officials use drone technology to design perfect city plans for civilians. A proper method is essential to maintain communication facilities and travel to the right place. New cities are chalked after drone investigation and area inspection. This helps to prepare a more accurate plan to build safer living places.

Drones are also used to design architectural buildings. Officials use a drone to measure the permissible height of each construction to maintain the safety of people.

(j) Telecommunication

Drones with different transmitters and sensors provide seamless telecommunication facilities to civilians. In places where human force is more minor, drones are used to provide telecommunication facilities.

Unlike satellites, it offers faster network access and an uninterrupted facility. Drones are our only source of hope during rainy or cloudy days when satellites cannot provide proper signaling.

Internet facilities are also supported using drone technology. In many places where satellites cannot keep high-speed internet, drones are used to provide 5G speed to experience seamless net surfing.

(l) Live entertainment

Drones are also used for live entertainment. In the last Olympics, more than 1000 drones were used to showcase a light show. In Dubai, many light shows are organized to entertain people using drones. It is a significant attraction and crowd attracter.

If you are a social media addict, you will find many influencers nowadays using drone technology. Aerial videos and life experiences they share attract huge traffic out of curiosity.

MNCs are finding innovative ideas to advertise their brand through drones to attract more customers. Drones are used to promote in the sky, draw a large crowd, and make people learn about the brand. But still, it is a way costlier process and may not be affordable for some.

Few Negative Impacts Of Drone Technology

After reflecting on so many positive impacts of drone technology, let’s now talk about the opposing sides of it.

(a) War

Uncrewed vehicles are used for bomb attacks and air strikes against enemy countries. Such use of drones is life-taking and breaks the peace and harmony among people. War itself is a major artificial disaster that brings sadness and grief only.

Most people in this world try to avoid such circumstances but still get pressed against military aggression.

(b) Spying

Drones are also used to spy on enemy activities. Most countries disguise their officials and send them to foreign countries to track all their movements. This keeps them updated about every small thing and helps them prepare a counter-attack for it.

(c) Serial attacks

Militants and ISI-trained personnel use drones to stage a bomb attack in a crowded place. In many parts of the world, we have witnessed attacks that destroy peace and harmony between people.

Every year many people lose their near and dear ones due to such attacks, and the government fails to trace such attacks or attackers beforehand.

(d) Leaked Video taps

Many intruders use drones to record personal moments of high-end celebrities, businessmen, or even some college teen girls. Through this, they blackmail and ask for a massive ransom from them. People in fear pay them every time and ultimately end this by killing themselves.

Many young girls witness such encounters where some boys record their private moments and threaten them to upload those content online.

CONCLUSION:

Nothing in this world is 100% good or 100% bad. Human beings are born to adjust to everything. It is not only about drones but other inventions of science that have helped humans and sometimes become the reason for their threat. It is we who have to distinguish between good and evil.

As mature human beings and responsible citizens, we should always positively impact society and our future generations. The recent drone uses in social media videos are a great source of entertainment.

Many impossible feats are now achievable due to drone technology. So lastly, I would end by saying that it is good to accept the new but bad to put it to the wrong use.
